Dr. Doiron is currently the Group Leader of the Engineering Metrology Group, primarily because it is his turn. Dr. Doiron has been in charge of calibration development, statistical process control and measurement assurance for the group since 1983.

He is the author of numerous papers, including the “Gage Block Handbook”, “Uncertainty and Dimensional Calibrations”, and the very influential study, “The Metrology of Complimentary Small Plastic Rulers.” His current interests are the measurement of sub-millimeter features (“Small Things Considered”) and the development and use of new technology for dimensional calibration (“Gage Blocks: A Zombie Technology”).
